Creative Movement & Ballet Instructor

Shelby started dance classes at the age of five. Under the direction of Wendy Calio-Gilbert and her mom Aunty Teresa Osthoff, Shelby followed their studio from W Performing Arts Sabrina Star to Mililani Y arts. In 2010, Shelby was one of the first dancers of Pas De Deux Hawaii. Her dance training includes ballet, jazz, contemporary, hula, and tahitian. Shelby had the privilege to further her hula with Hula Halau ʻO Kamuela under the direction of nā kumu hula Kauʻionalani Kamanaʻo and Kunewa Mook. With this halau, Shelby had the privilege to travel with them to Japan for the 2016 Hoike Lanakila tour.

Throughout Shelby's dance journey, she took part in Pas De Deux Hawaii's ballet, jazz, and contemporary dance team. As part of the team she competed in Spotlight Dance Cup and Jump dance convention. In 2016, she traveled with PDD Hawaii to Salt Lake City, Utah where she competed at the Youth America Grand Prix in group ensemble and solo variation. Shelby was also part of the first group to go to PDD's first national competition, The Dance Awards in Las Vegas, Nevada.

After high school, Shelby moved to the mainland to study at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She is currently in her fourth year with a major in Health Care Administration and a minor in Kinesiology. Aside from learning dance, Shelby loves teaching to the younger and upcoming generations. She started mentoring at the age of 13 in ballet, jazz, and hula. When she is home, Shelby substitutes classes and helps with concerts. She is blessed for her ohana at Pas De Deux Hawaii and to be back as a teacher.
